Edhe gjashtë ditë bukë/ Six More Days of Bread

This selection of films is from the collaboration with Ekrani i Artit, a festival dedicated to experimental cinema, video art, contemporary visual culture, and collective encounters through moving images in Albania since 2017. Over the years, Ekrani i Artit has brought together international and Albanian cinema through hundreds of screenings, exhibitions, talks, performances, concerts, and workshops, transforming Shkodër into a vibrant meeting point for contemporary artistic practices. This year, the festival has announced a non-competing category dedicated to young Albanian filmmakers and artists, of which will be available to view online on Shasha throughout June. Composed of projected stills rendered in visceral red tones and guided by an uncredited male voice recounting lived memory, the film conjures a collective hunger, both corporeal and existential. Merging documentary impulse with essayistic form, it interrogates the choreography of national celebration, the residue of post-communist identity, and the latent violence of spectacle. The anonymous voice becomes an everyman, an inheritance of shame, memory, and deprivation.
